Several events have been scheduled for “Turkey Daze” this weekend in Marion. Included will be a Turkey Leg contest that will reveal the most appealing leg belonging to one of eight unidentified local male participants. Pictures of the competing “Turkey Legs” will be hung in Marion businesses. Call the Marion Chamber of Commerce for more information.

Leland and Kay Heidebrecht, owners of Quality Food Market, this week announced a “going out of business sale” that will begin Thursday.

Foreign language instructor JoAnn Good has been chosen Teacher of the Month at Marion High School. Good has taught school for nearly 19 years. Five of those were in Hillsboro and the other 14 in Marion. She is married to Bob Good. They have two children, Ethan and Oliver.

Fun is the name of the game for the Harvest of Hope teen lock-in Friday in Marion. All Marion County teen-agers in 7th through 12th grades are invited to attend. The lock-in features four bands, games, free food, a few speakers, and movies. Events start at 9 p.m. Friday and end at 7 a.m. Saturday.

Twelve individuals are participating in the current EMT class. Four are from Marion, three from Florence, two from Ramona, two from Peabody, and one from Hillsboro.
