Seniors hear patriotic programs

Marion Senior Center

Jim Hett presented an historical background July 2 on Abraham Lincoln and recited the Gettysburg address from memory.

The “lunch bunch” of former classmates was at the center July 3 when a short patriotic program began with the Pledge of Allegiance and a patriotic quiz and ended with the singing of the national anthem.

A crew came in June 25 and prepared the senior center’s newsletter for mailing. Those participating included Barb and Larry Smith, Mary Hett, Irmagene Goodman, Al and Gloria Ash, Doris Winkler, Kathy Beeton, Lanell Hett, and Gayla Ratzlaff.

Surveys from the Area Agency on Aging on customer satisfaction are available and diners are being urged to participate. Lunch placemats at the center inform about newly issued Medicare cards.
